I am NOT a writer. I have never had any desire whatsoever to write, nor have I had even a lick of talent in this arena, so what am I doing here?

I have been plagued, of late, (well, "of late" more so than *usual*) with nagging thoughts and feelings that have weighed me down and practically disabled me from functioning effectively. In sharing this with my husband, Hardware, I lamented that I wish I were a *writer* like him and like Provence, our older daughter. They both got The Writing Gene. For that matter, Plant, my younger daughter, is a darn good writer, too. It's just that Provence pursues it professionally. Anyway, I am the exception.

The demon thoughts and feelings have primarily presented themselves in Sound Bytes and Tableaus. An example of a Tableau: I visualize my brain as a cavernous space wherein objects (thoughts and feelings) are flying around bouncing off the walls. It's difficult to perceive, recognize, organize and understand these objects when they're flying all over the place and cannot be contained. So, I opined to Hardware that perhaps if I could pull the objects out one at a time and define them (e.g.--write the Sound Bytes down on paper), maybe I could begin to organize and analyze them.

The next day, I had a sudden explosive revelation--I COULD BE A COPYCAT!!! You see, my primary source of entertainment and familial connection (sad, huh?) is reading the blogs of my precious Provence and Plant. I anticipate and relish reading their blogs, but have NEVER entertained the thought of writing my OWN blog (no talent or desire, remember?)

But, I had learned a LITTLE about blogging from following their blogs and reading other blogs, so what the heck?

I expect this blog to consist of a little bit of venting, sharing, social commentary, observation, insight, emoting, encouraging, enlightening, and whining.

So, I'm ready to launch.

I am I.C., and I am irrelevant (and that's a little teaser for the next blog).

(Provence and Plant--I know "copycat much"???)

This is great, mom. I am excited to see what you will be posting here!

(PS I did not invent blogging, actually.)

Good job setting up your blog!

You'll have to explain how you chose the nicknames. :-)
